Frelinghuysen Township School District
Frelinghuysen Township School District is a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6 public school district located in the scenic hills of northern Warren County. The students of FTS are supported by a dedicated teaching staff, committed Board of Education, caring community and active Parent-Teacher Organization.
Guided by the mission statement to provide all students a superior individualized education, each student is offered a well-rounded curriculum including world language, music, art, technology and a comprehensive STEAM program. This is balanced by language arts, math, science and social studies programs such as Go Math and FOSS Science, which guide students to achieve the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Upon graduation from FTS, students attend North Warren Regional High School.
Teachers focus on providing hands-on learning opportunities that challenge students to think critically while recognizing the importance of their own professional growth. Placing students in an active role through hands-on and authentic learning activities, our teachers foster an exciting learning environment in which critical thinking and creativity are consistently emphasized. Creating an atmosphere that promotes kindness, FTS has a comprehensive character education program that seeks to develop the whole child socially and emotionally. Service learning is a key component of the character education program, where all students are encouraged to be active, productive citizens within our community.
Technology integration continues to be a focus for the district as students in grades 2-6 learn in a 1:1 digital environment. For the 2018 school year, all grades will be learning in a 1:1 digital environment that promotes effective use of technology in the classroom. Further enhancing the instructional program, students are provided with enrichment opportunities to participate in various activities including band, chorus, EarlyAct, and Chess Club.
Our community of learners at Frelinghuysen Township School, in partnership with our parents and school community, continually seeks opportunities to provide a superior individualized education that focuses on instructional best practices and the social and emotional development of every child.
